RITMAN: Why 3D & Simulation Are Indispensable for Continuous Galvanizing Lines

2026/10/01 11:26

A continuous galvanizing line can stretch hundreds of meters long, featuring a tightly coupled process chain: uncoiling,Surface Pre-treatment, annealing furnace, zinc pot, air knife, cooling, web guiding and recoiling. Traditional design relying on 2D drawings heavily depends on engineers’ experience. Spatial interferences, layout conflicts, and strip-running hazards are often uncovered only during on-site installation and commissioning, leading to project delays and surging modification costs.

RITMAN adopts full-line 3D modeling and multi-dimensional simulation verification, resolving potential issues at the design stage and realizing the philosophy of simulation first, construction later.

Spatial Interference Simulation to Avoid On-Site Rework

RITMAN reconstructs the complete line's equipment, steel structures, piping, cable trays and cable routing at a 1:1 scale. Our simulation detects hidden risks that are difficult to identify from 2D drawings in advance, including equipment collision, piping interferences and narrow access passages. Especially for existing-line retrofit projects, RITMAN optimizes equipment layout and hoisting routes within constrained factory space, drastically shortening on-site installation duration and minimizing on-site cutting and rework.

Dynamic Operation Simulation to Predict Strip Wandering & Fluttering Risks

This digital model fully simulates strip-running conditions across the whole line, and verifies the coordination logic of CPC (Center Position Control) / EPC (Edge Position Control) strip-guiding systems, looper, sink roll and electromagnetic stabilizers. Potential risks including strip wandering, strip-tail flutter and weldline impact can be identified in advance. Roller-layout and tension-process parameters are optimized to reduce strip breakage and edge-scratching risks at the design source.

Cycle Time Simulation to Deliver Realistic Designed Capacity

Our simulation runs through the full-process sequence of uncoiling-welding-looping-processing-recoiling to identify bottleneck stations and validate looper capacity and maximum line speed. The resulting throughput is no longer a theoretical value on paper, but practical production capacity achievable after commissioning.

Empowering Modular Prefabricated Delivery

Validated by our simulation work, these 3D models generate standardized module interfaces to support factory prefabrication and onsite assembly. This improves equipment accuracy, shortens project schedules and guarantees consistent projectdelivery quality.

Simulation is not an optional add-on. It underpins the successful delivery of large-scale continuous galvanizing lines. RITMAN empowers complete continuous galvanizing line equipment with digital simulation, delivering stable, efficient and practical integrated metal anti-corrosion solutions for global customers.
